Baidnath Kumar — Guardian of Child Rights

Having worked as a child labourer himself at age 7 in dhabas and hotels, Baidnath Kumar turned his lived struggle into a national mission. Today, serving as a Bench Magistrate Member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Khunti & Ranchi, he coordinates rescues across India.

Landmark Human Rights Victories

Real court orders, NHRC directives, and police accountability actions initiated by Child Rights Foundation.

In February 2025, after Khunti police illegally detained and assaulted a 16-year-old minor, CRF filed an emergency complaint. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) confirmed the violation of the child's Right to Life & Dignity, leading to the immediate suspension of the involved Sub-Inspector, an FIR directive under the Juvenile Justice Act, and a ₹1 Lakh state compensation show-cause notice.

NHRC Direct Order Khunti District

In July 2025, Secretary Baidnath Kumar lodged a petition with NHRC regarding police harassment of a young woman in Ramgarh. Finding prima facie human rights violations, NHRC took official cognizance under Section 12 of PHRA 1993, ordering an Action Taken Report from the SP Ramgarh.

Following illegal domestic employment and a minor's suspicious death in Bokaro, CRF petitioned the Director General of Police (DGP) Jharkhand for a full CID probe under the Juvenile Justice Act.
